About this spa

High above Kootenay Lake, this retreat is built around the kind of soak that lingers in memory: a rock-walled hot spring cave where the water grows hotter, the air turns steamy, and the whole space feels hushed and elemental. Guests often pair that signature grotto with the open-air pools and the cold plunge next to them, creating a satisfying hot-cold circuit that leaves the body loose and the mind clear. With robes, towels, lockers, showers, a relaxation room, massage rooms, a floating sauna, and a private, view-rich setting, the experience feels as restorative as it is scenic. The resort’s lake-and-mountain backdrop is part of the wellness ritual here, especially from the pool deck, dining room, and guest rooms, where the views make even quiet moments feel expansive. Food and spa treatments add another layer for travelers who want more than a quick dip, while the overall atmosphere stays clean, calm, and intentionally unhurried. It’s the kind of place that rewards early arrivals and unstructured time, especially in winter when the contrast between steaming water and crisp mountain air feels almost cinematic. Wellness Score: 98. Designed for just 10 guests, it offers an intimate, focused escape for those seeking depth rather than crowds.

The hotel is nestled among a beautiful mountain range with a huge lake right in front. The hot springs offer relaxing pools and a great natural cave that you enter from the hot pool. The further you go into the cave the hotter the it gets. With places to just sit and relax. There is also a little pool that offers a cold plunge where the water is 5 degrees which is very i vigurating.

The inability to keep the cave water clean is interesting as it is from the rocks. One could still filter the water so it isn't merky

The hot springs were crowded but very relaxing. We spent the night so we got to enjoy the springs for guests only which was much quieter. The food is always amazing and the room was clean, comfortable and perfect.
